Music

At Augusta Stone Church we are proud to support an outstanding music program. Our music is highly commended by members and visitor's alike. With a Charles R. Walter grand piano, Moller pipe organ, handbells and handchimes and both adult and children's choirs we make beautiful music! Our worship services are frequently joined by guest musicians playing strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion instruments.

Adult Choir – led by Director of Music/Organist, Christopher Bono Choir practice is held on Wednesday nights from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the church. The choir is a small, intimate group that sings a wide variety of music; from spirituals and gospel songs, to classical church pieces by outstanding composers, to contemporary pieces by modern composers and original music composed by Chris Bono. Although we are serious about our music, we are also quite relaxed and have a great deal of fun at choir practice. Anyone who loves music (whether a member of the congregation or not) is welcome to attend and sing with us.

Children's Choir – led by Children's Music Director, Kathy Walters Children practice their singing and worship skills on Sunday mornings at 10:15 am after Sunday school. This is an enthusiastic group of singers, aged approximately 5 to 10, who make a joyful noise as they sing to the Lord during many Sunday worship services.

Handbell and Handchime Choir – led by Handbell Director, Katy Smith The “Bells of Stone” is made up of both adults and youth who practice on Sunday after church. Learning to play both handbells and handchimes, they combine music practice and fellowship.
